The Old house was beautifully restored in 2006 by Remodels by Ernie Alonzo. The new additions –Brenda's Ballroom, Heddie's Reception Room & Momma Fay's kitchen– opened for our guests in 2009. The new building was designed in respect to the old victorian style both architecturally and decor-wise. Now we are able to offer the exquisite feel of the old while being able to accommodate parties of 180.

LaVada’s is named after LaVada Johnson, affectionately known as “Big Momma”. She and her husband Braska L. Johnson, both deceased, lived life to the fullest and wanted everyone else to share their enjoyment while being with family and friends.

LaVada's offers the most exquisite and elegant venue for your special day. We have the perfect setting for any size wedding whether you are a planning an intimate family wedding of 20 people or a grandiose ballroom wedding for up to 300 guests. We are also renting a fully equipped, stainless steel commercial kitchen (licensed and insured caterers only). It can be used for actual cooking or solely to stage out of (ice maker, warmer, sinks).

At LaVada's , Brenda's Ballroom offers a Chapel seating up to 200 people. If you would like a seated dinner we can accommodate up to 160 people or 120 people seated for dinner with a adequate dance floor.
